IBM champions collaborative advancement in corporate machine learning

At the technology summit, IBM's Cox delivered a convincing case for open innovation in business artificial intelligence. The speaker, Vice President of AI models and head at the collaborative research center, underscored the importance of transparency in innovation, notably in the modern machine learning environment.
Cox highlighted the nuanced character of transparency in artificial intelligence, contesting the two-dimensional understanding of the principle. He observed the burgeoning community of transparent systems from multiple providers, including industry leaders, research centers, and governments.
Nevertheless, he voiced worries about the nature of openness in many Large Language Models, pointing out that a number of them offer scarcely more than a set of numerical values lacking clarity in their production methods.
